The CEO of the North Shewa Church, Reverend Megabe Hadis Neqatibeb Ababu, sent a congratulatory message regarding the selection of the location for the celebration of Epiphany and the construction of a spiritual college in Debre Birhan town.
Below is the complete message from the esteemed manager.
This year’s celebration is a great occasion for Semien Shewa Church and all Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Christians.
The windy Debre Birhan is one of the many places where the historical and international Epiphany holiday is celebrated in a grand manner. Specifically, it is celebrated at the historic and ancient Archbishop’s fountain, which is located in the town of Birhan Amba, also known as the place of the kings. Therefore, we require a location where nearby churches can celebrate this historic and global baptism day in our capital, alongside surrounding churches, to a high standard. We have requested that our city administration arrange for the baptism day.
As a starting point, 10 hectares, equivalent to 100,000 square meters, have been allocated for the Epiphany celebration. Secondly, it has been reported that 22,000 square meters (2.2 hectares) have been allocated for the construction of St. Baslios spiritual college.
The town administration has generously provided this gift in celebration of our revelation and gift. Congratulations!
May the name of the holy God of our forefathers be praised for showing us this timeless and historic shining history, reminiscent of the time of kings!
