Robust measures to protect the people of Sudan

In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful

May 13, 2023

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has taken robust measures to protect the people of Sudan and maintain order in response to the disinformation propagated by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and extremist elements linked to the former regime of dictator Omar al-Bashir.

Our commitment to the rule of law is unwavering.

Any RSF member found to be in violation of our code of conduct will be held accountable.

We understand the weight of our duty to the people of Sudan – and we act in their defense against those who seek to return the nation to a time of oppression and tyranny.

To effectively address the continuing crisis, we have formed a specialized task force assigned exclusively for civilian protection. This force is armed with 40 vehicles and actively counters incidents of violence in areas under our control.

We have also implemented a hotline to promptly receive reports, complaints, and requests for support. This initiative has already led to the arrest of criminals targeting private and public institutions, including individuals posing as RSF personnel.

All such incidents are documented on our official social media platforms.

Our human rights unit is actively engaging with international human rights organizations to offer an accurate picture of the destructive actions of the SAF and its extremist backers linked to the al-Bashir regime, which include air raids on residential areas resulting in civilian deaths. We are ready to receive and promptly address any complaints about our personnel’s conduct.

In our efforts to uphold security and stability, we call on communities in Khartoum to liaise with our deployed posts to immediately coordinate against criminal activities. This approach has already fostered constructive cooperation between the RSF and residents in various areas.

We are fully aware of the campaign by the SAF and extremist elements linked to the former regime to isolate the RSF and the people of Sudan through domestic and international media.

The Sudanese people, however, see through these blatant attempts.

The RSF remains steadfast in its commitment to a stable, prosperous, and democratic Sudan, free from the influence of members of the al-Bashir regime.

We firmly believe in law and order, and we pledge to strictly handle any reports of crimes, looting, or theft.
