The Rapid Support Command extends abundant thanks and appreciation to both the tripartite mechanism and the Quartet Committee for their good offices in order to continue the humanitarian truce to open safe humanitarian corridors for citizens and residents of brotherly and friendly countries and facilitate evacuations.
Special thanks to the United States of America and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their continuous efforts since the outbreak of the crisis in the country.
In compliance with the RSF’s principles of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions regarding the protection of basic human rights in the event of war, we announce our approval of the tripartite and quartet’s proposal to extend the humanitarian truce for an additional 72 hours, starting from twelve o’clock in the evening, Thursday 4-27-2023 AD.
We affirm our full commitment to the conditions of the humanitarian armistice, in appreciation of the conditions our honourable people are going through, and to facilitate the evacuation of diplomatic missions and foreign nationals.
We would like to draw attention to the existence of more than one decision-making centre within the leadership of the armed forces, the putschists and the remnants of the former regime, which caused conflicting decisions and this was reflected in the non-compliance with the terms of the humanitarian armistice and the continuous attack on the camps of our forces and residential neighbourhoods with planes and artillery.
We assure our dear compatriots that we will do our best to take advantage of the truce period to provide all possible assistance that will alleviate their suffering.
