The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) continues to violate the agreed upon temporary humanitarian ceasefire under the direction of General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.

The SAF continues to attack areas throughout Khartoum that are under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), using heavy artillery and military aircraft. These aircraft are now flying over the capital, as the SAF continues its indiscriminate bombing campaign against the civilian population with the support of the regime of former dictator Omar al-Bashir and radical Islamist elements.

The SAF prepared both yesterday and today to attack our forces in Al-Halfaya, Omdurman, and Khartoum South after members of the al-Bashir regime, having donned reserve police uniforms, took up arms with the SAF in Al-Shajara.

The RSF emphasizes its commitment to the temporary ceasefire, to open safe corridors, and to facilitate the evacuation of Sudanese and foreign nationals.

We will also persist in our efforts to respond to attacks by radical elements.

We underscore that the SAF has failed to abide by the ceasefire under the command of its misguided leadership, which is attempting to orchestrate a coup in Sudan.
