During International Women’s Day, it is important to prioritize women’s health.
In Lideta sub-city, a summary was held regarding the Women’s Day march, which is celebrated worldwide for the 113th time and for the 48th time in Ethiopia.
According to Mrs. Freinet Derese, the deputy executive of the city and head of the work and skills office, who attended and sent a message of welcome and congratulations, we celebrate this day by showing respect and gratitude to the brave women who fought for our freedom and independence. They believed that women should be confident in themselves and capable of leading their homes and countries. If a woman can manage competently, surely she can lead.
The head of the Lideta sub-city women, children and social affairs office, Mrs. Tesfanesh Gashaw, sent a message wishing happy holidays.
Women’s Day is celebrated annually with different slogans, and this year’s slogan is ‘Let’s empower women and ensure peace.’ It can be concluded that the government is prioritising the development journey. It has been stated that demonstrating our strength through good deeds is important for our health.
As previously acknowledged, women have faced oppression for many years. However, we have overcome these challenges and now have greater opportunities. Mrs. Tesfanesh Gashaw emphasised the need to take advantage of these opportunities.
The event was attended by female leaders from Lideta sub-city and Woreda, as well as coordinators and other participants. A forum for female leaders of the Lideta sub-city administration was established.
LIDETA SUB CITY WOREDA CELEBRATED INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
Women face unique challenges but are capable of efficiently fulfilling national responsibilities.
International Women’s Day was celebrated in Lideta Sub City Woreda 3 administration to empower women and promote peace and development. The day is marked with various events and activities.
Ms. Etnayet Tadele, the head of the Woreda Democracy Building Coordination Office, stated that women are contributing to their country with their knowledge and energy.
We express our gratitude to Mrs. Yegle Gebihawariat, the manager of the Woreda Women, Children, and Social Affairs Office, who is working towards ensuring gender equality and promoting women’s full participation and benefits. It is important to note that all evaluations presented are objective and supported by evidence.
The holiday was celebrated worldwide for the 113th time and in Ethiopia for the 48th time. Women from various levels of responsibility, serving the country in different philanthropic roles, as well as role models in their respective fields of work, and women from diverse communities were in attendance.
Finally, the forum concluded by awarding certificates of recognition to six women professionals in each sector. This recognises their contribution to building the country, promoting development and good governance, and strengthening the social, economic, and political participation and benefits of women.
