Activities and experiences are the core elements of the tourism industry. Sidaama region state has various attractions and destinations for the tourists. Hawassa-Siraro Wildlife Sanctuary Tour is one of these attractions. Hawassa City via Lake Hawassa to Seraro Wildlife Sanctuary Tour, is a new tour route from Hawassa City that imbed bout tour via Lake Hawassa, and reach Sama Ejersa Beach on Lake Hawassa which is located at adjacent of Hawassa International Airport. Then the tourist will travel by vehicles or by horse riding and will reach to the Siraro Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a new project that aims at prolonging the stay of tourists in Sidaama Regional State, especially in Hawassa City, through the creation of tourist routes that spend one day or more duration inside Hawassa City and surrounding tourist routes, in Sidaama Regional State.
It is currently being organised through the State, Cultural, Tourism and Sports Office of Hawassa Region, with the aim of taking advantage of the high tourist flow in the city of Hawassa and offering additional daytrips which include water and land travel via organised community based ecotourism packages, providing aesthetic and attractive tourist activities. This will help tourists (local and international) to add one day to their previous stay in Hawassa City.
