Wolayta Sodo University in cooperation with Ethiopian Boxing Federation is holding a 2nd round national boxing club championship competition.
The vice president of academic affairs of the university Dr. Mulatu DEA, who attended the first ceremony of the game, has sent a welcome message to Wolayta Sodo University.
The vice president stated that the university is working on a wide range of sports besides learning, teaching, research and community service activities. Boxing sport is a source of many talented players in the area, and it is being implemented with special attention.
Dr. Mulatu has pointed out that the university will cooperate with Ethiopian Boxing Federation and develop the sector through different training and work together on youth projects and similar activities.
The vice president who thanked the federation and the sport science department for organizing the competition, he expressed his best wishes for all clubs to have a good time and a successful competition.
Professor Afework Asale, the head of the sport science department at Wolayita Sodo University, has informed that the 2nd round national boxing club championship that is being held in collaboration with the Ethiopian Boxing Federation is being held beautifully.
Boxing is being used to improve cardiovascular health, build muscle strength, improve stamina, improve a healthy weight, improve body balance and coordination, improve physical fitness and generate income for youth, officials said.
Wolayta Sodo University Boxing Club, Diredawa Boxing Club, Fasil City Boxing Club, Federal Police Boxing Club, Federal Prison Boxing Club, Addis Ababa Boxing Club and Ethiopia Sport Academy Boxing Club participated in the competition.
