May 1, 2023The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) has launched a vicious attack on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Medical Headquarters from a military hospital in Omdurman.
Acting under the direction of SAF General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and supported by extremist elements linked to the regime of former dictator and military officer Omar al-Bashir, the SAF continues to violate the agreed upon temporary humanitarian ceasefire.
Several medics working at the RSF Medical Headquarters died in the attack. A number of wounded RSF and SAF personnel seeking treatment at the hospital were also killed.
We underscore that the RSF will not retaliate by attacking the military hospital in Omdurman where innocent patients are seeking treatment. We call upon the international community to take notice of the SAF’s illegal conduct, which violates the most basic tenets of humanity.
At the moment of the writing of this statement, the SAF continues to fly aircraft over the capital of Khartoum, waging an indiscriminate bombing campaign against civilians and residential areas. This is a flagrant violation of both the ceasefire and international law.
The RSF remains steadfast in its commitment to uphold international law and the ceasefire.

Our forces continued combing operations in all areas under their control to seize the outlaws, gangs of looters and thieves, and the campaigns resulted in the arrest of large numbers of criminals who were kept in custody.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) remains committed to improving the living conditions of the people of Sudan by providing essential services, promoting democracy, and working toward a civilian government.
With the help of engineers and technicians at the Central Electricity Station in Soba, the RSF has successfully restored electricity to several states and cities in East and Central Sudan, including Gezira, Gadarif, Kassala, Sinar, Kosti, and Rabak.
We are working diligently to repair supply lines that were damaged or destroyed in air raids by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and to restore supplies to all states.
Our efforts continue as we collaborate with engineers to reconnect water supply pipes to Salha and several areas in Omdurman. The RSF’s field teams have also begun providing drinking water and food to elderly care centres and hospitals in Khartoum.
Despite challenges, such as the recent SAF attack on the Bahri Water Station, the RSF is determined to find a sustainable solution to ensure the well-being of the people.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has announced today a 72-hour humanitarian ceasefire in response to calls from the United States and Saudi Arabia.
The ceasefire is intended to open humanitarian corridors, facilitate the movement of Sudanese and foreign nationals, and ensure that they receive access to necessities and can reach safe areas.
The RSF is committed to the ceasefire and welcomes all local, regional, and international initiatives aimed at securing a swift and comprehensive resolution to the war.

We have seen documented statements of a number of putschists and extremist terrorist elements of the defunct regime calling on the coup leaders directly to shift to a scorched earth policy by carrying out genocide against the Sudanese people by bombing all the cities of Khartoum state with aircraft and cannons, including the sites where the detainees of the armed forces are held by our forces.
The crimes of genocide and the violation of human rights is the behaviour of the putschists and the remnants of the defunct regime who, during thirty years, have practiced the most heinous types of violations against our people. The best evidence is that a number of the leaders of their repressive regime are wanted by the International Criminal Court.
The successive victories of our forces confused the putschists and their collaborators from the defunct regime and ISIS, and caused them great frustration because they realized that the hour of their demise had come forever. Therefore, they seek by all means to restore their kingship, even if over the skulls and blood of our great people.
The putschists continued their campaign of lies and debunked deceit by accusing members of the Resistance Committees and other honourable people of supporting the Rapid Support Forces after their miserable claims that our forces sought the help of fighters from neighbouring countries were exposed. The leadership of the coup forces and the remnants of the defunct regime continued to commit more atrocities against defenceless and innocent civilians at the instigation of the dark forces to carry out terrorist operations to cover the repeated defeats they receive from our forces in the field.
Today, the coup forces committed a foolish attempt to attack our areas of control in the city of Bahri. Our forces confronted them, and the remnants suffered heavy losses in equipment, lives, and a number of prisoners. They shot down two warplanes and seized 83 Land Cruisers with full equipment, and 3 armoured vehicles in good condition after the coup forces fled.
In a new failed attempt, the coup forces and terrorists began recruitment and indiscriminate arming of citizens and employees of the Shadow Brigades and the forces of darkness. We affirm that our eyes are open to any movements of these extremist groups and we will deal with them with the necessary decisiveness.
Elements of the defunct regime continued to spread rumours and misrepresented plays, portraying false victories in order to raise the morale of the coup forces.In an abhorrent racist behaviour, the remnants forces launched arbitrary arrest and detention campaigns in the capital, Khartoum, on a tribal and racist basis that contradicts the morals of the Sudanese and the goals of the glorious December revolution, and spread more campaigns of lies and misinformation that our people have experienced for thirty years.
Our forces also monitored the escape of a number of the leaders of the defunct regime out of the country after they realized that the flood would inevitably come amid a sharp division among the ranks of the putschists because of the multiplicity of decision-making centres.
We deal with the necessary wisdom with the groups of destruction that call for the practice of the terrorist approach that is popular with the extremist group by burning Khartoum and vital sites such as the Republican Palace, hospitals and bridges linking the cities of the capital, radio, television and the airport, in behaviour that has nothing to do with humanity or with the morals of the honourable Sudanese. We affirm our firm stand in order to preserve the gains and capabilities of the Sudanese people.
We affirm our complete control over 95% of the cities of the capital, Khartoum. Our sites also witness the continuation of the collective and individual surrender operations of the coup forces. Only those fleeing from the hell of the putschists are the survivors along with the honourable people of our honourable people.
Our forces continued repairing and addressing some problems related to health services, electricity and water services in order to alleviate the suffering imposed by the current conditions on our honourable people.
