      May 18, 2023

The coup forces and remnants continued the indiscriminate attack by air and artillery bombardment on civilians in populated areas, burning shops, markets and fuel pumps. The aircraft also targeted farms in the eastern Nile and Hillat Koko area, causing a number of deaths and injuries.

Citizens in the bases of the putschists and the remnants were subjected to attacks, beatings and humiliation on an abhorrent racial and racial basis. Money and phones of citizens were seized, and a number of houses were looted in the areas controlled by the remnants. Citizens were expelled from their homes and seized, and a number of hospitals in the capital, Khartoum, were occupied and others were destroyed by bombing. Aviation and artillery.
Today, the putschists in Nyala committed a crime against innocent civilians, as a number of residential neighbourhoods were bombed with heavy artillery, causing the death and injury of dozens of citizens.
We monitor the efforts of the leadership of the coup forces and employees of the defunct regime to seek the help of foreign mercenaries in order to support them after their terrible defeats in the battles, in addition to attempts to recruit citizens and launch calls for the Popular Defense Forces in the west of the country to participate in the fighting, and the putschists received a strong blow from a number of tribes that refused to participate in the war, confirming It did not support the putschists for the return of the former regime to power, and we also monitored a weak response from the employees of the dissolved National Congress and the shadow brigades.

The putschists are still practicing lies and misleading to raise the morale of their defeated forces in the field, and distort the image of the Rapid Support Forces through many dirty practices that our honourable people have experienced for thirty years.

Glory and eternity to our martyrs

The control over the leadership of the Central Reserve Forces

In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful
        #قوات_الدعم_السريع

        MEDIA STATEMENT

We are grateful for the remarkable accomplishments of our soldiers, who bravely protect our citizens from the former regime of military dictator Omar al-Bashir, which desires to regain power.

Today, our courageous forces successfully assumed control over the leadership of the Central Reserve Forces, a part of Sudan’s police that has been fighting alongside the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). We had hoped that this entity would distance itself from the ongoing conflict orchestrated by the SAF and its backers from the former regime, which endeavours to sow discord among our people.

We have consistently warned the Central Reserve Forces and its leaders against participating in a battle that does not concern them as we fight to obstruct the coup leaders’ attempts to escalate the violence. Unfortunately, our advice was not heeded.

We hereby urge all honourable individuals within various government bodies, especially the esteemed members of the SAF, to align themselves with the will of the people. We implore them to disassociate from the coup leaders and let them face the inevitable consequences that our valiant heroes will soon deliver.

Today’s victory will strengthen our resolve to continue advancing in the restoration of civil governance and guiding our nation toward democracy and a peaceful transfer of power.

We pledge to persist in our unwavering support for democracy, dismantling the stronghold of the coup forces and ensuring that the perpetrators responsible for the loss of innocent lives are brought to justice.

The indiscriminate attack on Shambat neighbourhood

In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful
          #قوات_الدعم_السريع

          MEDIA STATEMENT

Today, the Shambat neighbourhood experienced a severe and indiscriminate attack with heavy artillery by the Command of the Omdurman Corps of Engineers, part of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF).

This attack resulted in the unfortunate loss of innocent lives, injuries to several citizens, and significant damage to homes and other private property. The shelling targeted important locations, including the Sheikh Zain Al-Abidin Mosque and the residence of leading politician Al Moez Hadra.

Additionally, SAF warplanes today bombed several residential neighbourhoods (Al-Azhari, Eid Hussein, and Al-Salama) located south of Khartoum. This aerial assault caused the tragic loss of life and injuries to numerous civilians.

While we strongly condemn these savage actions against defenceless citizens, we urge regional and international organizations to carefully observe and document these crimes. These acts clearly violate both human rights and international humanitarian principles.

            Brigades from the al-Aylafon camp

In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful
            #قوات_الدعم_السريع

            MEDIA STATEMENT

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) swiftly and valiantly responded to an attack by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its allied militias linked to the former regime, including mobilized civilians who were forced to fight in this war. These brigades of mobilized civilians originated from the al-Aylafon camp in East Nile on Thursday and Friday.

Our soldiers successfully repelled the SAF and its extremist allies, inflicting significant casualties and materiel losses on the opposing force. The SAF and its brethren were seen fleeing, seeking refuge in civilian homes.

The battle resulted in severe losses for the SAF: more than 120 fatalities, 70 captives — most of whom were mobilized civilians — and the capture of 10 fully equipped vehicles (Dushka) and three armored vehicles.

Any attempts by the SAF and its extremist allies to lure mobilized civilians into Khartoum will be met with resolute action. Our soldiers remain alert and ready to confront the SAF and its allies backed by the former regime.

We previously cautioned against mobilizing civilians and forcing them to fight in this war. Actions such as these are nothing more than a desperate attempt to boost morale among the SAF, whose numbers are rapidly dwindling and whose corrupt leader, General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, cowardly fled the battlefield at the hands of our soldiers.

We have consistently urged our citizens not to succumb to the devious plots of the SAF and its extremist patrons from the former regime, who heartlessly aim to draw young Sudanese civilians into this war. Their objective is only to fulfill hidden agendas and regain power, regardless of the cost in innocent lives.

In defense of our people, the RSF fights today to realize the aspirations of our citizens for freedom, peace, and justice. We promise our people that we will lay the groundwork for a new democratic Sudan — a Sudan that puts an end to the suffering of its citizens, ensures security and stability, and establishes state institutions on a fair and equitable foundation, respecting and preserving the rich diversity and rights of our population.
